How to Use This

Making the checklist your own

  1. Ask the groom directly what he actually wants from you - a hands-on co-planner or a calm, present friend, or something in between.
  2. Delete anything that doesn't apply to your specific wedding, and add anything specific to his.
  3. Anchor each task to a timeframe rather than a fixed date, so the list still makes sense if the engagement runs long or short.
  4. Revisit the list every few weeks rather than trying to finish it in one sitting.
  5. Share the wedding-day section with the groom's day-of coordinator or planner so your responsibilities are visible to whoever's running the schedule.

For a deeper walkthrough of each responsibility and how to handle the trickier parts of the role, see the Best Man duties timeline guide.
